Quilted Northern Toilet Paper Guide: Ultra Plush vs. Soft & Strong

Supplied under model number 87656/50, Quilted Northern Toilet Paper in this 24-mega-roll configuration delivers an extensive supply of Georgia-Pacific’s signature three-ply construction. Each roll contains 255 sheets, combining to provide 6,120 total sheets per case. Weighing approximately 8.95 pounds with package dimensions of 20.9 by 12 by 10.3 inches, this carton represents a dedicated long-term investment in household comfort. The brand constructs each sheet using three separate, cushiony layers that make it four times thicker and four times more absorbent than the leading value brand, ensuring that fewer individual squares are required per trip to the bathroom.

In addition to sheet thickness, this Ultra Plush formulation addresses one of the most persistent frustrations found in premium bath tissue: unwanted paper particles. The manufacturing process binds the outer surfaces to minimize loose residue, maintaining clean surfaces on toilet fixtures. When sanitizing ceramic bowls using specialized cleaners such as the pink stuff toilet bowl cleaner, keeping dust accumulation low around the tank and roll holder ensures a noticeably tidier bathroom environment. Furthermore, Georgia-Pacific builds these rolls using pulp harvested from responsibly sourced trees, allowing families to prioritize comfort alongside conscientious forestry practices.

This 24-pack is ideally configured for medium to large families who prioritize skin comfort and plush softness over high-tensile sheet stiffness. Because it offers a substantial 6,120-sheet volume, parents can stock primary and guest bathrooms simultaneously without constantly restocking hallway cabinets. For households that place equal importance on tensile strength under heavy moisture, however, this model eventually gives way to the brand’s two-ply Ultra Soft & Strong alternatives, which favor structural pull resistance over three-ply cushioning.

For smaller living arrangements or homes with modest storage amenities, the six-roll carton of Quilted Northern Ultra Plush Toilet Paper provides the exact same three-ply luxury in an ultra-manageable package. Cataloged under item model number 87590/01, this bundle weighs just 1.66 pounds and measures 10.1 by 5.15 by 11.4 inches. Despite its diminutive footprint, each of the six mega rolls contains 255 sheets, equaling 24 regular rolls and delivering 1,530 total sheets. This compact volume slides effortlessly onto narrow pantry shelving, under bathroom sinks, or into small vanity drawers where full-sized shipping cases cannot fit.

The individual sheets on these rolls retain the complete performance profile of the larger Ultra Plush cases. They feature three plush, bonded layers engineered to be four times thicker and four times more absorbent than standard value alternatives while limiting paper lint. The layered design creates a pillowy surface that feels gentle during repeated use, which is especially beneficial during cold and allergy seasons. Because it shares the same responsibly sourced pulp foundations as the larger cases, choosing a lower roll count involves zero compromise regarding material standards or product feel.

This 6-pack suits urban apartment dwellers, singles, couples, or guest powder room dispensers where foot traffic is modest and bulk storage is unavailable. It eliminates the logistical headache of housing bulky cardboard cases in small floor plans. However, for households managing multiple children or frequent guests, this 1,530-sheet reserve will deplete rapidly, making the 24-roll or 32-roll Ultra Plush formats a much more practical choice to prevent frequent reordering.

When daily bathroom demands require exceptional structural integrity, Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong stands out as the utilitarian champion of the lineup. Identified by model number 94686, this 24-mega-roll package yields 6,120 total sheets, equivalent to 96 regular rolls. The package weighs 7.5 pounds and measures 21 by 12 by 10.5 inches, reflecting a slightly denser, more compact paper structure than its three-ply counterparts. Each sheet features a specialized two-ply weave designed to be four times stronger when wet and four times thicker than standard budget bath tissue, preventing frustrating punctures and roll shredding.

A notable aspect of this formulation is the manufacturer’s environmental stewardship. Georgia Pacific LLC partners with the Arbor Day Foundation, contributing to the planting of over 10 million trees to support sustainable forest replenishment. Additionally, the listing specifies a biodegradable material warning feature, confirming that the sheets break down steadily during transit through municipal plumbing and well-maintained residential wastewater infrastructure. Routine maintenance with gentle formulas like 7th generation toilet bowl cleaner pairs seamlessly with these rapidly dissolving fibers, protecting sensitive pipe walls from premature blockage.

This substantial 24-pack serves busy family households, households with young children still learning wipe portion control, and plumbing setups that struggle with extra-heavy three-ply rolls. The high tensile durability ensures that sheets remain intact during use, significantly cutting down on sheet wastage. While it does not offer the cloud-like loft of the Ultra Plush collection, its dependable resilience makes it the sensible daily driver for active master and children’s bathrooms alike.

The largest collection in the three-ply family, Quilted Northern Ultra Plush Toilet Paper under model number 87607/50 provides an immense 32 mega rolls in a single shipment. Weighing a substantial 11.87 pounds with box dimensions of 20.8 by 15.9 by 10.4 inches, this supply provides 8,160 total sheets. Each individual roll packs 255 sheets of premium three-ply tissue, maximizing the gap between roll changes on wall-mounted holders. For expansive homes equipped with deep linen closets, basement utility shelving, or garage storage racks, this package provides unmatched sheer volume within the brand’s luxury tier.

Every roll features the brand’s proprietary triple-layer construction, designed to remain four times more absorbent and four times thicker than budget alternatives. The three layers trap moisture efficiently within the embossed pockets, allowing users to dry effectively using fewer segments. The reduced-lint finish keeps surrounding surfaces tidy, minimizing dust accumulation on baseboards and adjacent fixtures. Crafted from responsibly sourced pulpwood, the paper maintains a supple hand-feel without relying on harsh chemical stiffeners, protecting sensitive skin across daily family routines.

This 32-roll format is tailored specifically for high-capacity households, multi-bathroom residences, and homeowners who purchase consumables in wholesale quantities to lower routine order frequency. Having over eight thousand sheets on hand protects large families from unexpected shortages. However, the carton’s physical bulk demands significant dedicated floor or shelf space; homes with compact bathrooms or minimal storage will find the 6-roll or 18-roll options far more practical to maneuver and store.

Representing the compact iteration of the brand’s tear-resistant formulation, Quilted Northern Ultra Soft Toilet Paper arrives in a space-conscious 6-mega-roll package. Bearing model number 94670, this compact carton weighs only 1.54 pounds and features dimensions of 5.45 by 10.1 by 11.95 inches. Each roll contains 255 two-ply sheets, combining for an aggregate count of 1,530 sheets. The manufacturer equates these 6 mega rolls to 24 regular rolls, ensuring that small-footprint storage does not force an immediate drop in per-roll longevity.

The sheets incorporate the same dual-ply technology showcased in the larger Ultra Soft & Strong bundles, emphasizing high tensile strength and quilted softness. Engineered to be four times stronger when wet and four times thicker than entry-level tissue, these two-ply sheets resist tearing while maintaining a smooth surface texture. The listing includes Georgia Pacific LLC’s biodegradable material notice, confirming smooth breakdown characteristics across standard plumbing setups. Furthermore, every purchase supports the brand’s corporate forestry alliance with the Arbor Day Foundation, which has planted upwards of 10 million trees.

This 6-roll pack is the practical solution for vacation rentals, dorm rooms, RV travel, and apartments where closet real estate is strictly limited. It allows users to experience the tear resistance of the Ultra Soft & Strong series without dedicating an entire closet shelf to paper goods. However, because 1,530 sheets can disappear quickly under heavy family usage, high-volume households will find better long-term logistics by upgrading to the 18-roll or 24-roll iterations of the same formula.

Bridging the divide between modest 6-roll bundles and floor-dominating 24-pack cases, Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong in this 18-mega-roll format delivers the optimal middle ground for residential storage. Listed under model number 94685, this carton weighs 5.31 pounds with package dimensions of 15.59 by 12.01 by 10.31 inches. Containing 18 mega rolls with 255 sheets each, the pack yields 4,590 total sheets, which Georgia Pacific LLC equates to 72 regular rolls. This gives suburban households several weeks of uninterrupted supply while fitting neatly onto standard linen closet shelves.

Each sheet utilizes the proven two-ply configuration designed to provide dependable durability and gentle touch. With four times the wet strength and four times the thickness of standard discount brands, the paper withstands vigorous wiping without tearing or falling apart in hand. The listing confirms a biodegradable warning feature, signaling that the fibers separate cleanly after flushing to minimize the danger of pipe buildup. Supported by the company’s ongoing Arbor Day Foundation partnership, each package represents a conscientious balance of high utility and environmental care.

This 18-roll option matches the needs of mid-sized households seeking ample reserves without surrendering excessive floor area. It stores comfortably on upper closet shelves where 24-roll or 32-roll boxes prove unwieldy. While it lacks the ultimate sheet count of the larger cases, its balanced volume and tear-resistant engineering make it one of the most practical everyday selections in the entire product portfolio.
